Learning about finances at an early age is important. That’s why our members age 12 and younger are automatically enrolled in Kirby the Kangaroo’s Kids Club! They receive a welcome packet for opening an account and a free gift whenever they make a deposit. Any minor, ages 0-12, meeting the *minimum eligibility requirements may have an account with Millstream Area Credit Union. Existing minor accounts will be considered in compliance with policies in place at the time of account opening. For minors under the age of 13, a legal adult over the age of 18 must be joint on the account.
In order to qualify for membership, a person must live, work, worship, or attend school in Hancock County, Seneca County, Hardin County, Allen County, Putnam County, or Wood County in Ohio.
Acceptable means of primary identification
If a minor is present and able to sign when requesting to open the account we will need to gather as much information as possible to verify them, obtaining at least social security card or birth certificate verification. We will document the information on the signature card to be retained for records.
If the minor is not present or unable to sign at the time of opening the account, we will still verify information on them based on the information provided by the person in the office as well as require a social security card or birth certificate for the minor. We will also need to verify and document the person bringing in the minor’s information. This information will also be documented on the signature card.
*See member identification policy for detailed instruction on ID requirements.
*If member closes their membership prior to becoming 18, Millstream will debit the account $5.00 for the initial deposit made on their behalf.
